Compact and well-designed, APS Villa is much more spacious than its minimal appearance might imply. Facing south-southwest, the villa is perfectly sheltered from the northern winds and lies a mere three-minute walk from taking a dip in the crystal-clear water off the rocks right below the property, or a 15-minute walk from the nearest sandy beach. The villa’s cubical volumes remind of unassuming Cycladic houses, but inside one will find a warm, calm energy with plenty of indirect light and a pleasant breeze. The gallerist owner has furnished the house with collectible design furniture, and artworks by top-quality artists like Ugo Rodinone, Martin Boyce and Mathias Faldbakken are installed around the house. The terrazzo floors combine with Naxos marble finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms, offering a unique Cycladic sense of luxury.
APS is a fully equipped summer home with six bedrooms, all with unobstructed views to the azure waters of Agios Georgios bay and the island of Despotiko; there are four bedrooms on the upper floor, and two on the ground floor. The common covered terrace on the ground floor acts as the villa’s social centre, and is the best spot for lounging in the shade and dining with perfect Aegean views as a backdrop while listening to your favourite music through the villa’s top-quality Hi-Fi system. A 4.5-meter-high studio/living room, the spacious kitchen/dining room and two main bedrooms are organised around the courtyard. On the upper floor, the sunset lounge with its open-air seating area is one of the house’s favourite hang-out spots.
